“Crank the Weasel”

Trashcans

(Brian Silva)

  1. Design Overview

Weasel will find Trash Cans in the playfield.  Kicking them will cause a variety of things to pop out of the Trash Can.

  1. Detailed Design
    1. Trash Cans will be found at specified locations throughout the level
    2. Trashcans can be opened by:

i.                     Weasel’s kick attack

ii.                   Weasel’s weapon attack

iii.                  Being hit by a charging meathead

iv.                  Meathead’s double handed attack

    1. Trash Cans contain:

i.                     Loot (amount varies)

ii.                   Chicken

iii.                  Filled with Vermin

iv.                  Empty

v.                   Random, but weighted

1.       If weasel is low on health, the chance of getting a chicken from a Random Trash Can would be dramatically increased

2.       Maximum chance on a Random Trash Can is 90%

    1. When a Trash Can is hit (by anything listed in “b”)

i.                     The Trash Can flies straight up into the air, it’s lid flies off

ii.                   There is a loud “CLANG!”

iii.                  The item(s) in the Trash Can fly into the air

    1. When the Trash Can hits the ground

i.                     The Trash can bounces and rolls in a semi-circle

ii.                   Lid bounces as well

iii.                  There is a loud series of “CLANG!”s

iv.                  After initial hit, Trash Can does NOT have collision

v.                   Trash Can flashes for two (2) seconds and then disappears in a Puff Of Smoke

  1. Design Outcome

·                                                                                 An enjoyable, yet obsessive, play mechanic

·                                                                                 Adds a sub-goal to each level

  1. Entertainment Factor

This will satisfy the magic “10 Second Rule” (i.e. present the player with something to do every 10 seconds
