Basics

Credits roll as Weasel flies toward and lands in Pleasure Island’s lagoon. Weasel exits the airplane (non player-controlled sequence) and is affectionately greeted by a gathering of exotic hula girls. Credits continue to roll over the scene of Weasel and the Hula Girls waving goodbye to the player. Once the ending credits come to an end, the player is granted control of Weasel once again. Weasel soon discovers that Pleasure Island is occupied by grass skirt wearing Hula Girls that dance and giddily follow him wherever he goes (he can even increase the number of hula girls by winning island bonus games). Now it’s time to explore the island and enjoy its unusual attractions.

Camera Type

While on Pleasure Island, the camera will be fixed in 2D cam mode. When Weasel walks on certain surfaces of Pleasure Island, the 2D camera will switch to a more cinematic type of 2D camera view that frames both Weasel and a specific piece of scenery in the shot such as when Weasel sets-off a volcanic eruption (the camera will frame both Weasel and the erupting volcano).

Volcano Plunger

Located somewhere off the beaten path of Pleasure Island is a tempting little dynamite plunger. Once found, Weasel can press the plunger (“action” button), setting off a giant volcano in the distance. This eruption kicks the island into high gear. The screen shakes a bit, the Polynesian band plays faster, and the hula girls flock to Weasel and tremble for his protection.

Luau

There’s a 24hr luau raging on this tropical paradise and Weasel is the guest of honor. The standard luau consists of a small Polynesian band (one guy on the ukulele & another on the peddle steel) performing on top of a decorated stage. The music is calm and tranquil. A few hula girls are onstage as well, slowly dancing to the music. Once Weasel presses the volcano plunger, the curtain at the rear of the stage part from the center, revealing more band members (drummers), additional hula girls as well as the Mayor tied to a spit that’s rotating above hot coals. The band furiously pounds away on their drums while the hula girls shake it like crazy. This event lasts for 30 or so. At the raging luau’s conclusion, the additional hula girls move to the rear of the stage and the curtain closes. As soon as the curtain closes completely, the music stops and a “Thank You For Playing!” sign springs up from behind the top of the curtains. The sign slowly lowers back down after 5 seconds or so.

Pound-the-Python

Found behind a Tiki hut’s door somewhere on Pleasure Island, this game consists of a game board filled with holes from which pythons will poke their head. Using a mallet, Weasel must smash the top of as many python heads as he can in a set time limit (see Basic Whack’a Game Rules). The better he performs, the more hula girls will inhabit the island (number of new hula girls determined by overall score).

Mini Vehicle Game

Found behind a Tiki hut’s door somewhere on Pleasure Island, Weasel controls a little island vehicle over a scrolling conveyor belt. Weasel must avoid hazards and run over valuable items (see Mini Vehicle Bonus Game). The better he performs, the more hula girls will inhabit the island (number of new hula girls determined by overall score).

Bumper Car Game

Found behind a Tiki hut’s door somewhere on Pleasure Island, Weasel drives an island bumper car within a confined little arena. He must run into as many opponent cars as he can within a set time limit (see Bumper Cars). The better he performs, the more hula girls will inhabit the island (number of new hula girls determined by overall score).

Coconut Shell Game

Found behind a Tiki hut’s door somewhere on Pleasure Island, Weasel must correctly guess which shell the hula girl doll is hiding underneath (see Shell Game). The better he performs, the more hula girls will inhabit the island (number of new hula girls determined by overall score).

Tropical Mr. Pawn

Mr. Pawn is also located on Pleasure Island. Standing underneath Mr. Pawn’s vacuum hose and pressing the “action” button will cause Weasel to be sucked-up into the hose. The onscreen action pauses as a menu of destinations to choose from appears onscreen. The selections range from any Scratchtown city or Pleasure Island. If Weasel selects to travel back to one of the Scratchtown cities, the screen will “C” wipe from Pleasure Island and “W” wipe back into whatever city was selected. If Weasel selects to stay on Pleasure Island, he will simply be spit back out of Mr. Pawn’s vacuum hose. While back in Scratchtown, Weasel can instantly travel back to Pleasure Island or any other city in Scratchtown simply by being sucked back into Mr. Pawn’s vacuum hose (“action” button) and selecting the desired destination.

Chickens

Weasel can find delicious chickens wandering the island. Eating a chicken and turning into Full-Tilt-Weasel won’t really benefit Weasel in any particular way but it’s always fun to hulk-out every now and then.
